Vicky was always interested in the mind-body connection and its impact on one’s health. She studied psychology in university before embarking on her post-graduate studies where she went on to receive her degree as a Naturopathic Doctor from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in 2008. CCNM is one of six schools accredited by the Counsel on Naturopathic Medical Education (CNME) in North America.
Vicky’s naturopathic practice combines eastern healing arts and philosophy with scientific evidence-based medicine for an individualized and effective approach to health and healing. Some of the modalities she uses are clinical nutrition, Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture (in Ontario), acupressure, botanical medicine, homeopathy, hydrotherapy and lifestyle counseling. She has taken specialized courses in sports medicine, intra-muscular stimulation, weight management, body composition with BIA assessment, fertility, cranial-sacral therapy, and electro-dermal EAV screening. She has also received clinical training in mind body medicine at the Benson Henry Institute at Harvard University.
Her focus is on establishing optimal health and she feels very strongly about the opportunity to educate patients, and the general public, about health and wellness while empowering them to take control of their own health. She greatly believes in the body’s ability to heal itself and is very passionate about supporting that ability within every one of her patients.
Since the completion of her formal training, Vicky Rizothanassis ND enjoys keeping up to date with relevant advances in treatment approaches through continuing education seminars. She is a proud member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND), the Quebec Association of Naturopathic Medicine (QANM), and is registered with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO).
